Joy Buntrock

Joy is a dedicated reading instructor with a passion for helping students build confidence and success in literacy.  She earned her undergraduate degree in Health Education from the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse, a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, and a Reading License from University of Wisconsin–Stout.

In addition to her educational background, she has experience working in public schools as a 1st–4th grade teacher, reading coach, and reading interventionist. These roles have allowed her to support a wide range of learners and collaborate closely with students, families, and educators to help children strengthen their reading skills and confidence.

She lives in Sussex with her husband of 23 years, their four young adult children, their mini goldendoodle, and a flock of chickens. Outside of teaching, she enjoys reading, working on puzzles, and spending time outdoors in the sunshine.

Joy strives to provide individualized, research-based instruction in a positive and encouraging environment where students feel supported and empowered to grow as readers and lifelong learners.
