Building off her experience as a former special education teacher, and as the parent of a child with dyslexia who received Orton-Gillingham tutoring and support through DAC, Amy Eichholz knows the value of intervention and encouragement in the life and education of a student. Amy holds bachelor’s degrees in elementary education and English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has classroom experience working with all types of students in various settings, including special needs, at risk, and gifted students. Amy is also working towards certification with the International Dyslexia Association. For the last 20 years Amy has been homeschooling her four adult children and just recently graduated her youngest child from high school. During those years, she taught language arts and science classes in homeschool co-ops and volunteered in all her kids’ activities. Amy also found great joy in her many years of teaching and coaching policy debate with middle and high school students in a national speech and debate league, witnessing them grow in their ability to think critically and communicate winsomely and effectively.
